Flags


Flags to be flown in accordance with the U.S. Flag Code and Florida Flag Protocols:

  • Can only display the flag from sunrise to sunset unless the flag is illuminated at night
  • Must take down the flag during rain, snow, or storms unless it is an all-weather flag
  • Must not touch the ground or have anything beneath it
  • Should not be displayed in a way that would make it damaged or soiled
  • Cannot place letters, symbols, insignia, or designs on the flag
  • Destroy all worn-out flags in a dignified way (i.e. burning)
  • No flags or flagpoles shall be installed without prior approval by the Architectural Review Board (ARB)

John’s Lake Boat Parade

December 13th, 2020 6:15 pm

The Annual Johns Lake Boat Parade will be on Sunday, December 13th, at 6:00 pm.
All boats participating should meet in Johns Lake, in the cove to the northeast of Deer Island a few minutes before 6:00 pm.
The parade goes along the north shore of Johns Lake and lasts about 1 hour.
In the past, we’ve had as many as 20 boats in the parade.
Come out for a great time!

Association Assessments January

Association Assessments Due

Association assessments are due twice a year, January 1st and July 1st of every year.
Please make check payable to Johns Landing Homeowners Association.
The next Association dues are due on January 1, 2021.
HOA Annual Dues must be received prior to Feb 1st 2021.
On February 1st, 2010 all non paid dues will be placed into delinquency and subject to fines, penalties and a lien placed against the property until paid in full.
Ensure that your dues are never overdue; Online Payment.

The Annual Board meeting will be held at 7:00pm on November 19, 2020 at the Oakland Meeting Hall, 221 N Arrington St, Oakland, FL 34760.
The meeting will also be accessible virtually via Zoom for homeowners unable to attend in person.

Parking At The Gate

Parking In The Community Lots At The Gate

There is NO EXTENDED PARKING ALLOWED IN THE COMMUNITY PARKING LOTS AT THE GATE.

Short term parking is allowed while utilizing the Community Picnic Area, Playground and Tennis Court.

Maximum of 24 hour parking is allowed on occasion for residents with a parking permit.
Parking Permits can be requested by completing the Parking Permit Request Form.

Parking in the Community Parking Lots for extended periods, up tp 24 hours without a parking permit or parking for extended periods and parking overnight will result in the vehicle being towed at the owners expense.

Violations should be reported via the John’s Landing Violation Report Form.

Friendly Reminder

It’s the responsibility of all John’s Landing HOA members to maintain their property in accordance with the community’s Covenants and Restrictions.

Mailbox Maintenance and Repairs:
Mailboxes should be painted and/or repaired as needed. This includes straightening mailboxes and securing them in the ground. Please keep in mind that an Architectural Review Board (ARB) Application must be submitted for approval prior to replacing a mailbox.

Driveway, Homes and Sidewalk Maintenance:
Driveways, sidewalks, fences and homes must be cleaned to avoid mold and mildew build-up. In the event you do not with to pressure wash, there are other environmentally safe alternatives to cleaning the mold and mildew away. All paint requests must be submitted for Architectural Review Board (ARB) approval. Sidewalks to be maintained by homeowner.

Lawn and Weed Maintenance:
Lawns should be mowed and maintained. This includes weeds both in the yard and in the beds. Hedges are to be kept trimmed and are prohibited from growing taller than the perimeter wall.

*Note, there is a Town of Oakland Ordinance that also prohibits mold and mildew build-up on your property.
